This is a collection of the laboratories that I am currently using for my research, internship, and assisting fellow researchers in collecting and analyzing data.
I have gained invaluable knowledge and experience from my mentors and colleagues through this work!
I would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Uzun for teaching me everything from the ground up, dedicating hours of her valuable time, and to my friends and fellow researchers, Ege Güven and Berkay Bostan, for being the best colleagues a researcher could ever hope for.
My Projects
TÜBİTAK 2209-A: Vowel Formant Frequencies of Standard Turkish
Supervisor: Dr. Emre Yağlı (Hacettepe University)
Role: Executive and Researcher
Description: In this project, a methodological approach to analyzing Turkish vowel formants will be presented, and inconsistencies identified in previous studies will be addressed through a systematic and replicable framework. A newly developed dataset of 1,280 vowel tokens from 20 speakers will be used to demonstrate the application of VowSpace, an open-source tool developed for this research, for the visualization and normalization of vowel data using the Lobanov method. Beyond Turkish, it will be shown how careful methodological design can be used to enhance cross-linguistic phonetic research and contribute to the broader typological literature on vowel systems.
The Projects I am Involved in
TÜBİTAK 1002-A: Acoustic Phonological Aspects of the Production Processes of Turkish Compound Words in Spoken Language
Supervisor: Dr. İpek Pınar Uzun (Ankara University)
Role: Scholar – Data Collection and Analysis
Description: The project is on the acoustic and phonological characteristics of compound word production in Turkish, focusing on spoken language data to provide insights into phonetic and suprasegmental variation.
Laboratories
NÖROM: Neuroscience and Neurotechnology Center of Excellence – Neurolinguistics Laboratory

Neuroscience and Neurotechnology Center of Excellence is a large collection of interdisciplinary laboratories made possible by the collaboration of METU, Ankara University and Gazi University.
I work mostly in the Neurolinguistics Laboratory for research and data collection.
One of my favorite things about this complex is that you can contribute to other researchers’ experiments by joining them! You see many interesting things.
Dr. Aydın runs this laboratory.

diLab: Ankara University Linguistics Laboratory

diLab is the linguistics laboratory of Ankara University, Faculty of Language, History and Geography. They mostly focus on phonological data collection, eye tracking and pupil dilation research.
It is a very friendly environment, mostly used by students.
Dr. Uzun runs this laboratory and has been incredibly helpful to anyone who wanted to use this laboratory for their research, including myself!
